For best viewing results, the browsers of preference are Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer. While the browser incorporated with America On-Line's service is based on Microsoft's Explorer, it does not function identically to it. In order to optimize your viewing, please be certain to maximize the browser window. You will also want to set your screen to 640x480 or 800x600 resolution, and at least 256 colors.

If you do not see animations or hear audio ...
There are preferences in all browsers that allow movies to be played, animated gifs to "loop" and images to be displayed. These preferences should be set to allow the "multimedia" elements to be active. You should also enable javascript, which allows your browser (if you are currently using Netscape and Internet Explorer) to have additional interactive capabilities.

For audio and movies ... plug-ins are needed to make these type of mime multimedia elements appear on screen. Most of the popular browsers have a plug-ins folder or directory (AOL, Netscape & IE). The Quicktime plug-in should be installed, and browser preferences should be checked to "enable" these movie and animation files.

The three main browsers, Netscape, Explorer and AOL come pre-set-up in different ways. The user should configure the browser to allow for these elements to be enabled to view the types of web elements that are currently being used on web sites.

Memory is also an issue. If an audio file cuts off, or if animations don't seem to move, it usually means that there is not enough memory dedicated to the browser.

For acurate viewing of page design for this site and others on the web, you should make sure your browser preferences are set so that the page information is used to set type size and colors.
